Executive Director of Peace Watch Ghana Warns NPP’s Abronye Over Attacks on Former First Lady Lordina Mahama

The Executive Director of Peace Watch Ghana, a non-governmental organisation, has issued a strong warning to Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye, demanding he cease his attacks on Former First Lady Lordina Mahama.

Madam Nyonkopa Daniels declared that she is prepared to mobilise women across the country to confront the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to Daniels, Abronye has persistently and without provocation targeted the Former First Lady. She stated that his recent attacks following the Former First Lady’s speech at the 80th United Nations General Assembly were the final straw.

Madam Daniels described the comments as unfair, particularly criticising the Regional Chairman for ridiculing the Former First Lady and unjustifiably comparing her to former First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo and former Second Lady Samira Bawumia.

She emphasised that while “we all have our strengths and weaknesses,” this fact does not grant anyone the right to denigrate and ridicule the Former First Lady.

Madam Daniels was emphatic in her statement: “Abronye is gradually losing control, and it appears everyone has remained silent. His unwarranted attacks on the Former First Lady are unacceptable.”

She continued, “For someone who hails from her region to insult and ridicule her in this manner exposes his erratic behaviour. I believe he may be experiencing a mental breakdown, but we will not stand by and allow him to insult and ridicule the Former First Lady. He must stop immediately, or we will mobilise Ghanaian women to demonstrate against him and ensure he is disciplined.”

“Is his offence that her husband is the President? He has misbehaved for a long time, and we allowed him to continue, so he believes he is untouchable. He must halt his attacks, or we will discipline him,” she warned.

Madam Daniels also encouraged women in the Bono region, the Former First Lady’s home region, to rise up and speak out against this behavior. “Their daughter is being treated unfairly, and they must stop him immediately,” she concluded.
