After a successful run at a number of film festivals, the Ghanaian movie, ‘The Funeral of Kwadae’ has been selected to run at the 2025 Africa International Film Festival.
AFRIFF is an international film showcase that presents an immersion into the world of filmmaking, with participation from all over Africa and the diaspora.

‘The Funeral of Kwadae’ tells the story of a shop owner who fakes his own death to escape debt but faces moral challenges.
It explores themes of redemption, survival, betrayal, and the choices we make and their consequences.
It was written and directed by Nana Obiri Yeboah, a multi-talented filmmaker, and features a cast including Brian Angels, Akuapem Poloo, and Adomaa.
The film was screened at the Dili International Film Festival in Timor-Leste and was an official selection at the Twelve Lions Film Festival in Kentucky in late 2025, among other festivals such as the Hamilton Film Festival.
