Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, the National Coordinator for the OAK for President movement supporting New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has asserted that his principal, if elected President, will establish a new benchmark that will either surpass or rival the record of Ghana’s late first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
The former government spokesperson on governance and security opined that Mr. Agyapong possesses the requisite mental fortitude, wisdom, and skills necessary to set unprecedented records for the country.
Appearing on the Frontline program on Rainbow Radio 87.5fm, Dr. Boakye-Danquah drew a parallel between Kennedy Agyapong and the Oak tree, one of the world’s longest-serving tree species.
He elaborated that the former Assin Central Member of Parliament is an exceptional politician who stands out as a unique personality, making his candidacy for the presidency and the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) deserving of serious consideration.
Dr. Boakye-Danquah stated that if the national aspiration is for Ghana to become the “golden age of business for the millennials,” where citizens aged 17 and above can successfully establish their own enterprises, then electing Kennedy Agyapong as President of the Republic is essential.
He further indicated that the nation requires a leader who will create an abundance of opportunities, where the jobs available would exceed the total number of citizens. To achieve this, Kennedy Agyapong intends to implement a transformative strategy inspired by the Asian Miracle.
(The East Asian Miracle refers to the period of exceptionally rapid and sustained economic growth, particularly from 1965 to 1990, in eight economies: Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.)
Dr. Boakye-Danquah firmly stated, “Kennedy Agyapong is a politician who has demonstrated that he wields the ability to transform this country to the point where he will beat the record of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah or would be favourably compared to him.”
The governance and security expert concluded that with Mr. Agyapong at the helm of affairs, his commitment to establishing multiple factories across various sectors of the economy will serve as his development model, ultimately transforming the country and making it a shining example on the continent.
