The Member of Parliament for the Okere Constituency in the Eastern Region, Daniel Nana Addo Kenneth, has called upon members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to respect his decision to publicly endorse the candidature of Bryan Acheampong for the upcoming presidential primary.

Mr. Kenneth stated that his endorsement of Mr. Acheampong follows thorough consultations with key party figures.

He confirmed that he consulted with party executives and his political mentor, the former MP for the area, Daniel Kwaku Botwe, before making his choice among the five aspirants vying for the slot.

The MP asserted his conviction that Bryan Acheampong is the only candidate among the five aspirants who can secure victory for the NPP in the 2028 general elections.

Mr. Kenneth also took the opportunity to clarify the position of Daniel Kwaku Botwe, emphasising that the former MP has not declared support for any of the presidential aspirants.

He explained that Mr. Botwe, now a senior figure within the party, is adopting a cautious approach and will rally behind the winner of the primary to unify the party and reclaim the presidential seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr. Kenneth noted that this decision to abstain from the internal election demonstrates Mr. Botwe’s readiness to work with whichever candidate emerges victorious on January 31, 2026.

”Daniel Botwe does not have an issue with my decision, as I explained why I chose Bryan Acheampong over the other candidates. We are both championing the party’s return to power in 2028,” he stated and consistently preaches unity among its members.

He also expressed confidence that: “If Bryan Acheampong becomes the next President of the country, he will create more jobs to curb the disturbing menace of unemployment confronting the youth.”

In conclusion, Mr. Kenneth appealed to NPP delegates heading to the polls on January 31, 2025, to vote for Bryan Acheampong to lead the party into the 2028 elections.

The Okere MP made these remarks at Awukugua on Thursday, October 16, during an event where Bryan Acheampong met with NPP delegates in the constituency.
