President John Dramani Mahama has convened a meeting with the Chief Justice, the Attorney-General, and the Auditor-General to discuss strategies aimed at enhancing the enforcement of findings contained in the Auditor-General’s Report.
A statement issued by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Government Spokesperson, revealed that the meeting took place today, Monday, October 20, 2025. Discussions centered on ensuring accountability and facilitating the recovery of public funds identified in audit infractions.
Additionally, it was agreed upon that special courts would be designated to handle cases arising from the Auditor-General’s findings, enforcing surcharges, disallowances, and prosecuting related criminal offenses.
This initiative forms part of the government’s broader efforts to augment accountability, deter the misuse of public resources, and ensure the prompt recovery of monies owed to the state.
