Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has unequivocally affirmed that the Operation Recover All (ORAL) initiative, introduced by President John Dramani Mahama, remains fully functional.
The Minister stated that, contrary to assertions from certain quarters that ORAL had been discontinued, it is actively operational.
He made this declaration while addressing Ghanaians and providing an update on some of the investigations conducted under the ORAL mandate at the Government Accountability Series on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
Dr. Ayine critiqued individuals he claimed have employed bloggers to disparage ORAL’s work, but he stood firm on the fact that several investigations have been conducted into alleged financial malfeasance recorded under the previous administration.
He attributed the deliberate and measured pace of ORAL’s work to the need for officials to be thorough and meticulous in their investigations.
This is to ensure they gather the requisite evidence for successful prosecution where necessary.
The Minister explained that his office, the Attorney General’s Department, is mandated to independently verify the findings of the ORAL Committee before initiating legal proceedings.
This process is crucial to building robust cases and preventing the state from being compromised by weak prosecutions.
Dr. Ayine appealed to Ghanaians to exercise patience, stressing that his office is committed to delivering excellent outcomes for the nation.
He emphasised that ORAL will succeed, urging the public to disregard those who are disseminating false information. “ORAL is in progress, and we will work for the good of the people of this country. We will exact accountability to the extent justifiable by law.”
Dr. Dominic Ayine concluded by assuring the public that he will not allow political expediency to influence his professional conduct or the discharge of his duties.
