A young man, whose name has yet to be provided, was hit in the scrotum at Agona Asante in the Ashanti Region today, in the Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
The young man was reportedly hit by a police gun, leaving him in a critical condition.
An eyewitness, who spoke on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, revealed that police personnel wielding guns stormed the area for a swoop.
During the exercise, one person was arrested, but residents in the area confronted the police, claiming that the arrested person had not committed any crime.
The police then allegedly opened fire, following which the victim, who was standing far from the scene, was allegedly hit in the scrotum.
Efforts to trace the station where the police officers came from have proven futile, as the various stations in the area have denied knowledge of the incident.
An investigation has since been launched to unravel the circumstances leading to the incident. The victim is currently on admission at the Divine Favour Hospital.
