The Ghana Air Traffic Safety Electronics Association (GhATSEA) has rescinded its decision to embark on a nationwide strike.
GhATSEA had planned to embark on a nationwide strike, which was scheduled to begin today, Thursday, October 30, 2025.
They decided to embark on the strike over poor welfare conditions, inequitable job placements, unfair salary administration, and unresolved welfare matters dating back more than 15 years.
But President of the Association Engr David Annan Mensah, in a statement, announced that they have called off the planned strike following successful discussions with the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) governing board and management.
He stated that the meeting was aimed at resolving the issues they had raised.
GhATSEA expressed appreciation to all stakeholders involved in the negotiations while expressing hope that it would bring solutions to the issues.
“Following constructive engagement with the GCAA governing board and management, we have decided to suspend our planned strike action, which was scheduled to take effect from 30th October 2025,” the statement read.
“We appreciate the efforts made by all stakeholders during the discussions and remain optimistic that the ongoing engagements will lead to a lasting resolution of all outstanding issues,” the statement added.
GhATSEA has meanwhile expressed its commitment to maintaining safety and professionalism in the delivery of air navigation services across the country.
“We remain steadfast in our commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism in the provision of air navigation services across the country,” it stated.
The association also commended the Acting Director-General of the GCAA, Rev. Stephen Wilfred Arthur, and Acting Deputy Director-General (Technical), Mr Theophilus Aryee Ago, for their dedication and leadership during the negotiations.
