The MP recounted past efforts to clean Accra, led by former Mayor Stanley Nii-Agyeman, but noted that progress is often reversed due to political considerations.

Hon. Jerry Ahmed criticised the current state of affairs, citing ineffective task forces and party apparatus influencing decision-making.

He also emphasised the importance of prioritising citizens’ needs over political interests.

The MP urged Parliament to escalate efforts to address urban challenges, citing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 11, which focuses on creating safe, inclusive, and resilient environments.

He stressed the need for harmony and cooperation across party lines to deliver effective solutions to urban challenges, ensuring a cleaner and more sustainable environment for all Ghanaians.
