27-year-old pregnant woman found dead on her farm in Yaw Wusukrom

A 27-year-old pregnant woman, Haggar Nyorkpatey, was found deceased on her farm in Yaw Wusukrom, a farming community near Nkrankwanta in the Dormaa West District.

According to a police statement, the deceased was seven months pregnant. Allegedly, she was killed on Thursday, November 6, 2025. The Bono Regional Police Command has initiated an investigation into the suspected murder.

Preliminary investigations revealed that her throat was slit with a sharp object, with blood clots found in her mouth and ear canal.

A foamy substance mixed with blood was observed around her neck.

A statement issued by Regional Public Relations Officer Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah indicated that a 57-year-old man, Charles Asante, reported that the woman, his younger brother’s wife, left for her farm around 8:30 a.m. and did not return.

Community members mounted a search and discovered her body on the farm.

She was found wearing a multi-coloured dress and blue trousers with white stripes.

The body has been deposited at the Dormaa-Ahenkro Presbyterian Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy, while investigations continue to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.

The Police added that “Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspects responsible for this crime.”
