The committee responsible for investigating the circumstances surrounding the August 6, 2025 helicopter crash has completed its work.
The report on the probe will be presented to the National Security Council on Monday, November 10, 2025.
This was revealed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Government Spokesperson, in a Facebook post.
According to him, the details of the report will be made public on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
The crash resulted in the deaths of two cabinet ministers and six others in the Adansi Akrofuom district of the Ashanti Region.
Prior to the establishment of the committee, the flight data and cockpit voice recorders were recovered to aid the inquiry.
The crash involved a Ghana Air Force Z-9 helicopter that was en route to Obuasi for the launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme, a government initiative aimed at addressing illegal small-scale mining and promoting responsible mining practices.
The Minsiter stated that “Tomorrow, the report of the August 6 Helicopter tragedy investigation will be presented to the National Security Council.
On Tuesday, the details of the report will be made public at a media briefing.
The victims included:
- Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence
- Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for Environment, Science and Technology
- Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna, Former Minister for Food and Agriculture and Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator
- Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress
- Samuel Aboagye, Former Parliamentary Candidate
- Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Pilot
- Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu
- Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah
