A one-and-a-half-year-old boy has been discovered abandoned in a cemetery in the Mfantseman Municipality of Ghana’s Central Region.
The minor, reportedly a special needs child, is believed to have been left in the cemetery by his mother.
He was found at the Anomabo local cemetery during a burial service. Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the child’s family or mother.
The child is currently receiving treatment at Saltpond Hospital.
Assembly member for the Krokessim Kokodo Electoral Area, Honourable Amos Pius Asoku, confirmed the story on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM.
He informed the news team that the minor was found by mourners who had gone to bury their departed relative. The cry of the boy drew their attention.
He acknowledged that the victim is a special needs child and suggested that this may have influenced the mother or whoever abandoned him at the cemetery to do so.
He appealed to the public to assist in identifying the boy’s family.
