The Member of Parliament for the Weija Gbawe Constituency, Hon. Jerry Ahmed Shaib, has organised an MP Quiz Competition for students in the constituency, with the theme “Empowering Young Minds Through Knowledge and Civic Responsibility”.
The competition, which aims to promote academic excellence and civic engagement among the youth, features five schools: Oblogo M/A 1 Basic School, New Gbawe Exp 1 Basic School, New Gbawe M/A 1 Basic School, Mallam M/A 1 Basic, and Gbawe Islamic Basic School Complex.
According to Hon. Shaib, the initiative is part of a broader effort to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to become responsible leaders and contribute to national development.

The quiz competition is one of five programmes launched by the MP, in collaboration with the municipal education directorate, to promote education and youth development in the constituency.
Hon. Shaib expressed his commitment to supporting education in the constituency, stating that “education is the bedrock of one’s ability to develop easily.” He urged the youth to take advantage of these opportunities to enhance their knowledge, skills, and civic responsibility.

The Second Deputy Minority Whip emphasised that investing in education is crucial for personal and communal transformation, citing his own educational achievements as a testament to its power.
A proud lawyer with multiple master’s degrees, Hon. Shaib attributed his success to his education and encouraged students to prioritise their studies. He believes that educated constituents will be better equipped to engage with lawmakers and contribute to national development.
Hon. Shaib announced plans to launch additional initiatives, including an MP Quiz Competition, mock exams, a civic challenge, leadership training, and an academic debate series, aiming to foster a culture of academic excellence and civic responsibility among the youth.
