President John Dramani Mahama has officially launched the Nkoko Nketenkete project with the objective of supporting small- and medium-scale poultry farmers.
At the event, the President pledged the distribution of three million birds across all 276 constituencies in Ghana.
Speaking at the launch on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, President Mahama indicated that the initiative will benefit 60,000 households nationwide.
He said it will also bridge the gap between large-scale commercial poultry operations and community-based producers.
President Mahama said the government remains committed to making poultry farming more inclusive, providing opportunities for both smallholders and medium-scale farmers.
“Through the Food Systems Resilient Programme, we are supporting 500 small and medium poultry farmers across all regions to produce three million birds. The government is going to distribute three million birds across all 276 constituencies of this country, with each constituency receiving 10,000 birds, benefitting approximately 60,000 households nationwide.
“Each household participating in Nkoko Nketenkete will receive 50 birds, key support, and technical guidance to ensure the sustainability of their project,” he added.
