The Minister of Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has said the government has allocated an amount of 150 Million Ghana Cedis to the Black Stars to help them prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He said this while presenting the 2026 budget statement on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
He added that an allocation has also been made for the construction of mini sports stadiums in three regions.
“Mr. Speaker [of Parliament Alban Bagbin], an amount of 200 Million Ghana Cedis has also been allocated for the construction of mini stadiums in three regions.”
“Finally Mr. Speaker, an amount of 150 Million Ghana Cedis has been allocated for the Black Stars to participate in the World Cup” Dr. Forson said.
Dr. Ato Forson added that more money had been allocated to sports in the form of the construction of mini stadiums in three regions in Ghana.
Ghana has qualified for the World Cup for the fifth time, and next year’s World Cup will be co-hosted by the United States of America, Mexico, and Canada.
