Police in Begoro have launched a manhunt for a guest house owner, known locally as ‘James Bond’, in connection with the murder of his girlfriend at the BJ Tech Guest House in Ehiamankyene, Fanteakwa South District.
The victim, identified locally as Koryo, was a well-known food vendor at the Ehiamankyene market. Emerging details indicate she shared a child with the suspect, although they did not cohabitate.
It is reported that their relationship was highly secretive and strongly disapproved of by her family.
The tragic incident is believed to have occurred on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, after Koryo visited the suspect at his guesthouse and failed to return home.
The victim’s younger brother subsequently went to the guesthouse. Upon peering through a window, he discovered his sister lying deceased in a pool of blood. He immediately alerted their parents.
Officers from the Begoro Police Station retrieved the body on the evening of Thursday, November 13, 2025. The remains have since been transported to the Begoro Government Hospital mortuary.
Following the discovery, tensions escalated rapidly in the community.
Angry youth responded by setting fire to the suspect’s Apsonic GY9 motorbike and vandalising and setting ablaze the guest house structure.
It took the intervention of the police and the Ghana National Fire Service to intervene.
John Kwame Narh, Deputy Director of NADMO (National Disaster Management Organisation) in Fanteakwa South, confirmed the incident and stated that the suspect remains at large.
