The Twifu Praso District Court, presided over by His Honour Festus Fovi Nukunu, has sentenced Yaw Joseph, also known as Joseph, the goat thief from Twifo Tenewaaso, to one year in prison with hard labour.
Yaw Joseph was caught red-handed recently while stealing a goat and attempted to use his connections to bail himself out.
He was known as a serial goat thief who went about stealing from residents in the area.
The arrest reportedly elicited excitement among residents in the community, as goat theft in the area had become increasingly rampant.
Several residents had complained about losing their goats to thieves who had evaded capture.
