A group calling itself the Youth For Progress Coalition has commended philanthropist Kojo Adjei Mohammed, CEO of Tako God’s Resources Ltd, also known as King Kojo Tako, for his philanthropic activities.
The group stated in a statement that the businessman has remained dedicated to championing community development.
The convenor of the group, Godwin Owusu, noted that the support and philanthropic works of King Kojo Tako are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals in community development and education, which are linked through SDG 4, which ensures inclusive and equitable quality education, and other goals like SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
He indicated that these activities are connected by promoting lifelong learning, integrating sustainable development into education, and ensuring access to quality education, technical training, and literacy for all, which empowers communities to address social, economic, and environmental issues.
He cited a recent donation made by the businessman to the Akyem Adukrom Basic School and Kyebi Islamic Basic School in the Abuakwa South Municipality.
The schools recently appealed to the government and benevolent individuals to come to their aid, citing a dire shortage of desks, teaching materials, and infrastructure needed to enhance effective teaching and learning.
To help address these challenges, Kojo Adjei Mohammed, CEO of Tako God’s Resources Ltd, also known as King Kojo Tako**,** extended a helping hand to three basic schools in the area. His donation included 2,000 exercise books, assorted drinks and biscuits, and GH¢10,000 in financial support.
Godwin Owusu in the statement commended King Kojo Tako, describing his gesture as laudable, and encouraged others to emulate it.
He indicated that beyond the educational sector, King Kojo Tako has provided numerous support to the wider community by donating clothes and provisions to 400 widows and settling hospital bills for mothers who were unable to pay at the Kyebi Government Hospital.
“As a group, we commend the businessman for his kindness and support to the community and the needy in the community. This does not only promote social welfare and educational development in the Eastern Region, but it is also in line with the Sustainable Development Goals. The government alone cannot do it all, and so when we get philanthropists to support the efforts of the government, it goes a long way in bridging the gap between those who are privileged and underprivileged. We encourage people to emulate this man.
Through his support, we will have people gain knowledge and skills for sustainable livelihoods, active citizenship, and informed decision-making. His support also extends beyond education. It helps in addressing social inequalities and providing equal opportunities for all.”
