A 27-year-old man identified as Sylvester allegedly killed his fiancée, Charlotte Boateng, following her decision to end their relationship.
The incident occurred at Abompe, a suburb in Obuasi, Ashanti Region. Hon. Frederick Addo, Assembly member for the area, confirmed the story on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, stating that Charlotte had informed Sylvester she was no longer interested in the relationship.
According to Hon. Addo, the couple had a five-year-old child and had previously quarrelled. Charlotte had requested school fees for their child, and Sylvester asked her to come over on November 19, 2025.
Hon. Addo noted that this was not the first misunderstanding between the two, as Sylvester’s mother had expressed disapproval of Charlotte.
He added that Charlotte had physically abused Sylvester, who is physically challenged, due to her greater strength.
On the day of the incident, the couple had a disagreement about finances, as Charlotte criticized Sylvester for not working. Charlotte was later found dead, and Sylvester fled but has since surrendered to the police.
