Former Abuakwa South Member of Parliament Atta Akyea has advised New Patriotic Party delegates against electing former Assin Central Member of Parliament Kennedy Agyapong as the party’s candidate for the 2028 presidential election.
The private legal practitioner posited that the party needs a candidate who is level-headed, disciplined and diplomatic.
Although he did not specifically mention his name, his description of the person and characterisation pointed to Mr Agyapong.
Speaking to delegates, he stated that the country does not need a President who is profane. He painted a situation where Mr Agyapong could easily get angry and insult world leaders at a United Nations gathering.
Speaking in the local language, Atta Akyea stated that a vote for ‘this man is like cha-cha’ so let us not risk voting for him as our candidate.
‘Someone just reminded me, if you go ahead and vote for this cha-cha and we send this man to the United Nations; Oh God have mercy because this is a serious issue, all you will hear is ‘Mother Fucker’. Ghanaians will hear ‘Mother Fucker’. Oh my God, a President saying Mother Fucker. Have you heard Dr Bawumia saying Mother Fucker before? I am appealing to you, let’s not vote for cha-cha. God will certainly intervene and not allow that to happen.’
