The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has announced a delay in the payment of two categories of allowances, primarily impacting government workers in the education sector.
A statement released by CAGD on November 25, 2025, attributed the delay to a technical hitch encountered during the final payroll run for the November 2025 salaries.
To avoid further disruptions to the payroll system and ensure timely release of the main November 2025 salaries for all Government of Ghana workers, processing of the affected allowances was temporarily paused.
CAGD has moved swiftly to assure affected stakeholders that the issue is being actively resolved.
According to the release, outstanding allowances will not be lost and will instead be paid next month, scheduled for Wednesday, December 18, 2025, consolidated with workers’ main December 2025 salaries.
The statement was issued by Cephas N. Dosoo, Head of Public Relations, on behalf of the Controller and Accountant-General. CAGD expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and sincerely appreciated the patience of affected workers.
