Majority Chief Whip and MP for South Dayi, Hon. Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, has criticised the Minority Caucus for focusing on press statements instead of grassroots campaigning in the Kpandai re-run election.
He noted that victory will be determined by work on the ground, not blame games, and highlighted government achievements such as job opportunities, free tertiary education, and infrastructure development as the basis of their campaign message.
Hon. Dafeamekpor urged the Minority to leave their “comfort zones” and campaign actively if they hope to win the seat.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, 28th November 2025, Hon. Dafeamekpor stated that the Minority had “lost the matter” and appeared confused about their next steps.
“The minority won’t campaign, but when they lose, they turn around to blame innocent people. This time, violence will not give them victory. What will win is decency, sound policies, job creation, and credible economic management.”
He further claimed that for the first time in nearly eight years, young people have been given opportunities to join the Army, Police, Prison Service, Immigration Service, and Fire Service through transparent recruitment processes.
He also mentioned the “Big Push” initiative and promised that long-abandoned and dilapidated roads in the area would be rehabilitated. Additionally, he reiterated plans to integrate the youth into the Feed Ghana programme to enable them to take ownership of agricultural opportunities.
The lawmaker said the ruling government is already on the ground in Kpandai campaigning actively and urged the Minority to leave their “comfort zones” and do the same if they hope to make an impact.
