The Member of Parliament for Offinso North, Hon. Dr Fred Kyei Asamoah, has criticised the Ministry of Education for inaccuracies in the 2026 budget report, specifically regarding Technical and Vocational Education and Training (T-VET) enrolment figures.
Hon. Asamoah pointed out that the report incorrectly stated the enrolment figure for the 2024-2025 academic year, citing 183,000 instead of the actual 69,000 students.
The former chief executive for TVET also noted that the ministry has yet to start constructing T-VET centres, despite previous plans, and urged corrections to be made.
Speaking in Parliament, Hon. Asamoah emphasised that everyone values education, as it’s a common factor among MPs’ presence in the chamber.
He called on the ministry to address these issues and ensure accurate reporting.
