Parliament has formally notified the Electoral Commission of a vacancy in the House following a High Court order for a rerun of the Kpandai Parliamentary Election.
This was contained in a formal letter dated December 4, 2025, and signed by the Clerk to Parliament, Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror.
He informed the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, that the vacancy arose after the High Court in Tamale directed a rerun of the constituency’s parliamentary election. On November 24, 2025, the Tamale High Court ordered a rerun after indicating that the election was fraught with irregularities.
Acting under Article 112(5) of the 1992 Constitution, the Clerk explained that the correspondence serves as the official notification required to trigger the processes for conducting a new election in the Kpandai constituency.
