Political analyst Samuel Boateng has described the chaotic scenes witnessed on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, as unfortunate and undeserving of the legislative house.
He slammed the minority in Parliament for engaging in chaotic behavior and disrupting the proceedings that day.
He said the caucus could have used a more appropriate approach in raising their concerns.
“What happened in Parliament yesterday was most unfortunate. The strategy they used was unacceptable and disgraceful. If we have adopted , then we have to ensure that we do it well. There are better ways of dealing with issues in the House. We regard the House as a democratic institution where the rule of law must apply. What happened yesterday was a disgraceful act by the MPs. It makes us wonder if the NPP and the NDC have their own separate democratic rules. Are they in the house to represent the people or to represent their selfish interests? Parliament is not for the NDC or NPP; it is for Ghana, and so MPs ought to remain disciplined and discharge their duties lawfully.”
Speaking in an interview on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he stated that if the Minority disagreed with any issue on the floor, disrupting the process was not the best option. He added that if the Parliament of Ghana and its members behave in this manner, they would be acting lawlessly. Our parliamentarians have a duty to do things in a manner that represents the people.
