The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has condemned the violent mob attack on the Kwame Danso District Court in the Bono East Region.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, during ongoing court proceedings. According to a statement by JUSAG, the disturbance was linked to the case of The Republic vs. Isaac Kwabena Mintah & Two Others, whose accused persons had been remanded by the court.
JUSAG reported that a group of irate youths gathered at the Kwame Danso Police Station before proceeding to the court with dangerous objects.
The mob disrupted court proceedings, forced staff and litigants to flee, and freed the remanded suspects.
They allegedly vandalized court furniture and property, attempted to break into the magistrate’s office, and posed a significant threat to court personnel.
The Atebubu Police Unit intervened to restore order. JUSAG noted that the magistrate and staff experienced trauma and remain fearful.
