The Accra High Court has lifted the injunction on Daddy Lumba’s December 13 funeral, allowing the event to proceed as scheduled, after the applicants, the musician’s maternal family, failed to pay the GH¢2 million undertaking as ordered.
The court had initially granted an injunction application brought by the maternal relatives, citing that the immediate family was sidelined in funeral planning.
However, due to their inability to meet the deadline for payment, the court struck out their plea, paving the way for the funeral activities to continue uninterrupted.
Following the ruling, lawyer Thomas Kwadwo Osei, representing the family head, expressed relief to journalists, noting that the legal hurdle has been removed.
