Hon. Adama Sulemana, MP for Tain Constituency, has lauded President Nana Akufo-Addo for delivering on his campaign promise to legalise Okada operations in Ghana.
The passage of the Okada Commercialisation Bill is expected to create employment opportunities for young people and boost economic growth.
Speaking in Parliament, Hon. Sulemana emphasised that the new law will not only provide jobs but also come with safety measures, including a minimum age requirement of 21 years for riders.
This, he believes, will ensure that only mature individuals are operating these vehicles, reducing the risk of accidents.
Hon. Sulemana expressed confidence that the legislation will increase transportation options and stimulate economic activity, benefiting the youth and the country as a whole. He commended the President for keeping his promise, stating that it demonstrates his commitment to improving the lives of Ghanaians.
