The Minister assured that the Ministry will continue to support the Authority in its efforts to combat cybercrime.

The Minsiter in his pair wrote “Kudos to the team at the Cyber Security Authority Ghana once again.

This dawn, another massive blow has been struck against cybercrime in Ghana. A joint operation between the Authority and National Security resulted in the arrest of 32 Nigerians operating a romance scam syndicate in Kasoa Tuba.

We will continue to support the Authority in its efforts to do more as we make Ghana an unattractive destination for cybercrimes.”

The Cyber Security Authority has also released a statement confirming the arrest.

The statement read “The Cyber Security Authority (CSA), in collaboration with National Security operatives, has arrested 32 Nigerian nationals during a coordinated early morning operation at Kasoa–Tuba.

The joint operation resulted in the seizure of 31 laptops and 15 mobile phones suspected to be linked to cybercrime activities. The suspects are currently in custody to assist with ongoing investigations, while the seized devices are undergoing forensic analysis.

This operation forms part of the Authority’s sustained efforts to combat cybercrime and related offences nationwide.

The CSA remains committed to safeguarding Ghana’s digital space in close collaboration with its security partners and encourages the public to report suspicious cyber-related activities through the appropriate channels.”
