Deputy Education Minister Dr Clement Apaak has, on behalf of the Honourable Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, welcomed the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) to the Ministry of Education.
The meeting was primarily to formally introduce WUSC Ghana to the Ministry of Education.

WUSC has been operating in the country for years; however, the visit focused on its aim of accelerating change through innovation under the Agricultural TVET (ACTIVATE) Project.
In his remarks, the Deputy Minister indicated to the WUSC Ghana team, led by the Country Director, Appiah Wiafe Adofo, how the Honourable Minister and he are working assiduously to support women, marginalised groups, and persons with disabilities in the education sector, including the free tertiary education policy for persons with disabilities under the President John Dramani Mahama-led administration.

He noted that the need to empower Ghanaian youth and persons with disabilities with employable skills is urgent, as many are being left behind, and it is not good for our society.
He commended WUSC Ghana for its efforts so far.

He added that the objectives of WUSC are in line with what the government and the Ministry of Education seek to achieve, particularly in our deliberate efforts to upscale TVET education through increased support for CTVET and TVET services.
