The Koforidua High Court dismissed the election petition against the duly elected Member of Parliament, Hon. Frank Asiedu Bekoe, affirming that his mandate was lawfully and validly obtained.
The court ruled that the petition failed to establish sufficient grounds to overturn the Electoral Commission’s declaration.
According to the court, the petitioner did not provide compelling evidence to prove alleged irregularities that could have affected the outcome of the parliamentary election.
It held that the claims raised by Prince Addo were either not substantiated or did not meet the legal threshold required under Ghana’s electoral laws.
The judge indicated that the petition lacked merit and consequently dismissed it in its entirety.
