Hon. Worlase Kpeli, Member of Parliament for Kwahu Afram Plains North, has described his first year in office as a vital foundational period dedicated to learning the ropes of governance and setting a long-term agenda for his constituents.
Reflecting on his journey as a first-time lawmaker, Mr. Kpeli stated that the experience has been positive and that he remains focused on delivering his mandate through a deliberate, measured approach.
Rather than rushing for quick wins, the MP explained that his priority was to evaluate the existing state of the district and “reset” its development trajectory.
He emphasised that careful planning is the only way to ensure sustainable progress over his four-year term.
“Parliament has been so far, so good. The experience has been great for me, and I am still learning,” Mr. Kpeli shared. “I dedicated my first year to building a foundation for parliamentary practice and constituency development. I wasn’t in too much of a hurry because the state of the constituency and the district before I assumed office required a total reset.”
He further noted that without this strategic realignment, he risked finishing his term without achieving meaningful impact. “If I did not take the time for careful planning… I might rush, and the four years would be over without having achieved anything.”
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Mr. Kpeli told host Kwabena Agyapong that his ultimate goal is to transform the constituency and set a new pace for growth. .
Despite the hurdles faced during his first year, he expressed high hopes for the future.
“The foundation is now solid. I am optimistic that in the coming year, we will be able to navigate the challenges and address them effectively,” he concluded.
