A fire outbreak has claimed the lives of six individuals, including a four-month-old infant, in the Atwima Nwahiagya South district of the Ashanti Region.
The blaze, which occurred at Abuakwa Manhyia, is believed to have been caused by electrical issues resulting from power outages.
According to Vida, a tenant and eyewitness, ‘the lights went out yesterday evening, and upon their return at 11:45 pm, she heard the landlord shouting that the house was on fire.’
She stated that they alerted the fire service, but unfortunately, they failed to arrive promptly, resulting in the deaths of six individuals in the outbreak.
The fire completely destroyed the residence, leaving behind nothing but ashes and charred remains. Five of the victims were female, and one was a four-month-old baby boy.
The deceased individuals have been identified as Kissiwaa – Sarah Bona, Akua Love- Gladys, Pokuaa, Asantewaa, Mavis Osaa Beawaah, and Aseda Perry.
