Seven individuals of the Muslim faith have been urgently transported to various medical facilities in Ho, the capital of the Volta region, subsequent to a shooting incident that interrupted Jummah prayers on Friday, December 26, 2025.
Details suggest the incident transpired at approximately 9:00 a.m. when a newly appointed Chief Imam arrived at the Ho Central Mosque to lead the day’s congregational prayers.
Emerging information indicates that the violence erupted when supporters of Alhaji Alfa Anas clashed with armed men allegedly providing security escort for the newly installed Chief Imam to the mosque.
A joint security personnel has been deployed to the mosque and the surrounding Zongo community with the aim of restoring calm, as of the time of compiling this report.
Meanwhile, media access has been restricted to the regional hospital where the majority of the victims of the clash are receiving medical treatment.
