Global InfoAnalytics isn’t like those corrupt research firms that churn out favorable polls for you
Mussa Dankwah, the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, has issued a sharp rebuke to critics accusing his firm of bias, asserting that the attacks are a calculated attempt to keep the Ghanaian electorate in the dark.
In a statement issued addressing the recurring “agenda-driven” accusations from both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dankwa challenged his detractors to provide evidence of corruption rather than relying on empty rhetoric.
He opened up that these attacks and unwarranted accusations toward his polling data stem from a fear of an informed citizenry.
He said some politicians thrive on public ignorance and propaganda, a dynamic that is now being threatened by transparent, data-driven insights.”The truth is that they don’t want us to know what the public thinks,” Dankwa stated.
“Doing just that enables everyone to have the same information and not just a few who could use it to their advantage.”
He noted that the polls conducted by his firm are aimed at igniting debate and allowing voters to form opinions based on empirical knowledge rather than political spin.
He further shot down claims that his polls favour specific ethnic or religious groups. He noted that while past dealings with corrupt actors in the industry may have soured the political class’s view of pollsters, Global InfoAnalytics remains incorruptible.
He suggested to the political parties that while politicians may insult the polls in public for optics, they would be wise to take the findings seriously in private.
He hinted that some of those now attacking the firm have previously attempted to influence their results and failed.”As you insult us and accuse us of agenda setting, never in private joke with the polls,” he warned, signalling that the data reflects a reality that political parties ignore at their own peril.
Below is the full statement
An organization releases NPP polls, they say it is an agenda. They release NDC polls, it is an agenda. Do they think everyone is corrupt with no values like them? Anyone with any evidence, please come out and throw it out there for all to see.
The truth is that, they don’t want us to know what the public think and doing just that enables everyone to have the same information and not just few who could use it to their advantage.
The polls ignite debate, encourage open discussions and allow citizens to form an opinion based on knowledge and not ignorance and propaganda.
Some politicians simply oppose anything that informs, educate voters and shine light where there is darkness. They have thrived because of our ignorance and that is now under threat.
I don’t have an agenda driven by politics, ethnicity or religion. We just report what we are told. If you attack us, you have not done anything but simply attacking the messenger but we are not quitting so get ready, it is a long haul flight.
Those fightint the data from NPP and NDC folks, I say relax but my advice to you is that as you insult us and accuse us of agenda settings, never in private joke with the polls. Sometimes, I understand where you are coming from: your past dealings with some corrupt people in the industry have shaped your opinion about pollsters in Ghana but you all know what we at Global InfoAnalytics stand for becuase some of you have tried it us but failed.
And to those who think our methodology is flawed, plenty meat does not spoil soup. They can also join and provide the same or better services.
Good morning
