An intelligence operation led by the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) of Ghana has culminated in the arrest of suspected cybercriminals across several clandestine operations centers.
These criminal activities were primarily concentrated within East Legon Hills, Afienya, Kwabenya, Weija, and Tuba.
Initial intelligence revealed a troubling pattern where young men were being exploited and coerced by kingpins to conduct various cybercrime activities at these specific locations.
Acting on the CSA’s findings, a joint task force comprising operatives from National Security Operations, the Cyber Security Authority, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters, and the National Police SWAT conducted a series of coordinated raids on January 16 and 17, 2026.

In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, confirmed the success of the mission.
During the operations, nine Nigerian nationals were apprehended as primary suspects, while forty-four additional Nigerian nationals, believed to be victims of human trafficking and forced labor, were rescued.
These victims were discovered in their respective apartments actively operating laptop computers.
Comprehensive searches of the premises led to the seizure of fifty-two assorted mobile phones, sixty-two laptop computers, and two pump-action guns.
A total of fifty-three Nigerian nationals were taken into custody across the targeted areas, including five in East Legon Hills, eleven in Afienya, ten in Kwabenya, ten in Weija, and seventeen in Tuba.

The Minister further revealed that all arrested individuals have been profiled and transferred to the Ghana Immigration Service for safekeeping and continued investigation. He issued a stern caution to foreign nationals, advising them to rigorously verify any claims or promises made by fellow nationals seeking to lure them to Ghana under false pretenses.
Furthermore, the Minister noted that several individuals apprehended in previous operations have already been profiled by the Ghana Immigration Service and INTERPOL.
These individuals were successfully handed over to Nigerian law enforcement authorities at the Seme border, while others are currently undergoing criminal prosecution within the Ghanaian court system.
