A group calling itself For the Masses has made a compelling case for Kennedy Agyapong, urging delegates of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to elect him as the party’s presidential candidate on January 31, 2026.
The group believes that Agyapong is the most capable leader to lead the NPP into the 2028 presidential election.
The group, which comprises professionals from various sectors, stated that they have carefully assessed all the candidates contesting the race.
Following this evaluation, they concluded that Kennedy Agyapong possesses the unique qualities required to secure victory for the NPP. Philip Burbery Quaye, the Convener of the group, noted that their travels across the length and breadth of the country revealed a singular, pressing demand: the urgent need for jobs.
During an interview on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Mr. Quaye explained that Kennedy Agyapong is the only personality with a proven track record capable of creating sustainable employment for the unemployed youth of Ghana.
He emphasised that the group’s investigations and engagements with Ghanaians confirmed that unemployment remains a major national challenge.
Because Agyapong’s message of job creation aligns so closely with their core values, the group has decided to fully throw its support behind his candidacy.
Mr. Quaye further cautioned that it would be a significant mistake for the NPP to elect any candidate other than Kennedy Agyapong.
He suggested that the party must learn bitter lessons from the 2024 general elections, noting that previous experiments with candidates did not serve the party well.
By supporting Agyapong for the 2028 elections, the group aims to prioritise the development of the youth and the overall progress of the party. They are therefore appealing to delegates to vote massively for him to ensure a prosperous future for the NPP.
