A 12-year-old boy was allegedly assaulted by his mother, Madam Mavis Vinyo, a matron at St Mary’s Vocational Institute in the Donkorkrom Afram Plains North District, for using her phone without permission.

The incident occurred while the mother was cooking, and the victim picked up her phone to play music.

Madam Vinyo reportedly became angry, beat the child mercilessly, and allegedly used a knife to inflict wounds on his head.

The victim was rushed to the Donkorkrom Presbyterian Hospital for treatment by the security guard on duty.

The case was subsequently reported to the police, leading to Madam Vinyo’s arrest.

According to Nana Tabono’s report oun Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, the victim’s screams for help prompted the security guard on duty at the school to intervene.

The incident has shocked onlookers, who question why a mother would cause harm to her own child.

Madam Vinyo is currently in police custody and is expected to face court proceedings soon.
