The former Director of Operations at the Presidency under President Akufo-Addo, Lord Commey, has expressed his unequivocal support for Kennedy Ohene Agyapong ahead of the New Patriotic Party’s presidential primaries slated for January 31, 2026.
Lord Commey attributed the party’s success in the area to Kennedy’s leadership, highlighting notable development projects initiated during the administrations of former President John Agyekum Kufuor and President Akufo-Addo.
He emphasized that the party’s priority for 2028 should be securing power rather than risking with a candidate who has slim chances of winning.
Addressing party delegates, Lord Commey stressed that the NPP requires a strong contender who can secure power, and Kennedy Agyapong is the most suitable candidate for this task.
”Kennedy Agyapong is the most credible, competent, and dedicated party member who has served the NPP and secured us the power we want. We need power. If we are indeed serious about securing power in 2028, then I am appealing to you, the delegates, to take a moment for consideration and ask yourselves: who will really win us that power?
We need power, oh; we need power. We can no longer afford to stay in opposition. That is why I am humbly and passionately appealing to you to vote massively for Kennedy Agyapong.
We have advised the party that we need power; we need power, and so we need somebody who can secure us the victory we need. You heard the messages from all the aspirants, but the most important thing is that we need power—and Kennedy Agyapong is the one to secure that power,” he told the delegates in Ablekuma South.
