Kennedy Agyapong, an aspiring presidential candidate in the ongoing NPP primary, has expressed strong optimism about securing victory.

Reflecting on the current proceedings, he stated that the election is unlikely to replicate the logistical challenges experienced during the 2023 presidential primary.

Describing the process so far as “smooth and impressive,” Agyapong urged the more than 211,000 delegates to cast their ballots for “Number 1” as voting commenced nationwide. Speaking to journalists, he emphasised that his team has taken every possible precaution to prevent rigging, noting that he expects a fair and transparent contest.

Regardless of the outcome, Agyapong provided assurance that the party would emerge stronger and more united, with a singular focus on achieving victory in the 2028 general elections.

“In every contest, you expect things to get tough at certain points. Sometimes unpalatable words are used, but you have to take it as it is. That doesn’t mean you should leave the party.”

He stressed that, upon securing victory, he possesses the leadership necessary to bridge divides and bring the party together.

Kennedy Agyapong remained emphatic about his chances, declaring that he expects to be named the winner of the primary.

He called on delegates who had yet to vote to turn out in massive numbers for his candidacy.

He noted that he does not anticipate any violence, especially given the significant number of police officers deployed to oversee the exercise.
