Twelve people have been seriously injured in a road accident on the Winneba-Mankesim Highway and rushed to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital.
A Toyota Voxy passenger vehicle with registration number GN 9883-25 collided with a Nissan Altima with registration number GW 1895-09 at Gomoa Amenfi.
According to information gathered, the Toyota Voxy, which was traveling from Kasoa to Cape Coast, is said to have made a wrongful maneuver and collided with the Nissan Altima coming from the opposite direction.
Subsequently, a Hyundai Elantra saloon car with registration number GR 1972-15 collided with the Toyota Voxy.
Eight passengers in the Toyota Voxy are in critical condition, while four occupants of the Nissan Altima also sustained injuries.
All 12 injured individuals were transported to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital.
The Winneba Police and Apam Fire Service have cleared the road to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic.
