A 62-year-old woman, identified as Baby Abienor, has died after being allegedly attacked with a cutlass by a co-tenant, Hormeku Agbemor, 30, at Twifo Denyase Camp in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region.
The victim’s daughter, Gladys, sustained severe injuries in the same attack and is currently receiving treatment at the St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu.
According to details, the incident occurred on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at approximately 8:00 a.m.
The suspect, who resided with the victims, allegedly launched an unprovoked attack on the women, inflicting multiple deep machete wounds.
Baby Abienor died instantly from the severe injuries, while Gladys was initially treated at a nearby CHPS compound before being referred to the St. Francis Xavier Hospital due to the severity of her condition.
The Twifo Praso District Police Command commenced investigations after being informed of the incident and found the lifeless body of Baby Abienor with deep fresh wounds believed to have been inflicted with a cutlass.
Near the scene, officers discovered the lifeless body of the suspect with signs of possible lynching by angry residents.
Preliminary investigations suggest the suspect exhibited abnormal behavior before the attack.
