The Executive Secretary and Spokesperson for the National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values has urged Ghanaians to hold politicians accountable, suggesting that any leader who opposes the anti-LGBTQI bill should face severe public and social repercussions.
Moses Foh-Amoaning says politicians in power, especially those in Parliament who are opposed, must get hooted at, shamed and exiled from the country.
He was responding to the directive issued by the Speaker for the Business Committee to prioritise the anti-LGBTQI bill.
Moses Foh-Amoaning has commended Speaker Alban Bagbin for prioritising the anti-LGBTQ+ Bill and urges the transition to a public bill for stronger legislation.
Foh-Amoaning suggests less than a two-week timeline for the legislative process and recommends introducing care and support for those willing to abandon LGBTQ+ activities instead of imprisonment.
He emphasises Ghana’s sovereignty in lawmaking, dismissing external pressures, and urges politicians to support the bill or face public backlash.
He further noted that any official who opposes the bill should face punishment and that constituents should vote against such individuals in Parliament.
In his view, the anal area was not created by God for sexual pleasure, and individuals engaging in such activities require special attention rather than encouragement, as they are deemed unhealthy.
”Excuse my language, but the anal area was not designed to be penetrated. Therefore, any politician who argues that the passage of the anti-gay bill will create a financial crisis or block aid from coming deserves to be hooted at, publicly shamed, and exiled; they do not deserve to live in Ghana. Such politicians have no place in office, and we must do everything possible to remove them.
I repeat: Ghanaians, both at home and abroad, should hoot at any politician making such reckless remarks. Those who engage in gay sex are struggling, and we must offer them help. We do not penetrate the ‘trumu’—it is not even human, let alone a right.”
He further revealed that the Association operates a facility dedicated to offering help to those willing to turn away from such unhealthy behaviours.
