The Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has initiated a comprehensive response to the alarming reports of a foreign national allegedly exploiting several Ghanaian women through unauthorised recording and dissemination of explicit acts.
In an official statement issued on February 14, 2026, the Ministry denounced the acts as a ‘clear infringement of dignity and privacy’, affirming that the non-consensual distribution of such materials constitutes a criminal offence under Ghanaian law.
Preliminary investigations indicate the suspect may have fled the country; however, officials assured the public that exiting the jurisdiction will not exempt the individual from prosecution.
“This does not reduce the seriousness of the alleged conduct or the state’s responsibility to pursue accountability,” the statement read.
According to the Ministry, it is currently working alongside the Ghana Police Service and international partners to explore “mutual legal assistance” and “cross-border cooperation” to bring the perpetrator to justice.
Recognising the psychological toll of such digital violations, the Ministry has activated support services to assist the affected women.
Psychosocial care and legal assistance are being coordinated through confidential channels to maintain the privacy of the survivors.
The Ministry further urged the public to exercise extreme caution in their digital and physical interactions.
The Ministry also reminded citizens that several toll-free helplines are available for reporting abuse or seeking assistance:
* 0800-800-800
* 0800-900-900
* 0800-111-222
