Family dispute ends in triple fatality after mentally unstable man attacks mother and battles brother in Ashanti Region

A 21-year-old man with a history of mental health challenges fatally attacked his mother and brother following a dispute in the Offinso Achiase community on Monday, February 16, 2026.

The violent incident ultimately resulted in the deaths of all three family members.

The Incident

According to eyewitness accounts and reporting by DJ High Tension on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM’s Nyankonton Mu Nsem, the tragedy began when the mother confronted her son regarding his persistent drug abuse.

This confrontation reportedly infuriated the young man, who then turned violent.

The suspect attacked his mother during the argument.

Upon hearing of the altercation, his brother, Kofi, rushed home from town to intervene.

A physical struggle ensued between the two siblings, escalating until both succumbed to their injuries.

Local police have been notified of the tragedy and have launched a formal investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
