The management of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) has interdicted two medical doctors and two nurses following allegations of professional negligence involving a hit-and-run victim.
The decision, announced in a statement released on Monday, February 23, 2026, comes amid public outcry over the victim’s death.
The statement issued by the management indicated that the interdicted workers allegedly failed to provide the necessary emergency medical care required to save the patient’s life.
The hospital had also established an internal investigative committee tasked with conducting a “thorough inquiry” into the specific circumstances that led to the clinical failure and the subsequent passing of the victim.
“In line with established administrative procedures, a committee has been constituted to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and the unfortunate death of the victim,” the statement read.
While the identities of the interdicted staff remain withheld, the board and management of Korle Bu have urged all witnesses and individuals connected to the case to cooperate fully with the committee.
The hospital stressed that a transparent process is essential to ensure justice for the deceased and to maintain the integrity of the facility.
