Dr Benjamin Oduro Arhin Jnr, popularly known as Bnoskka—a Ghanaian creative arts business development and intellectual property consultant, UNESCO Aschberg expert, and lecturer at the University of Education, Winneba—has called on government appointees to either align with President John Dramani Mahama’s vision or resign.
Speaking on the Weekend Morning Show on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Dr Arhin asserted that the President requires a diligent team to successfully execute his “Reset Agenda”.
He posited that any appointee or Member of Parliament (MP) unable to match the President’s work ethic and energy should step aside to make room for those who can.
Addressing host Eddie Ray, Bnoskka noted that the president’s recent State of the Nation Address (SONA) reflects a man deeply dedicated to transforming Ghana.
He offered prayers for the president, asking for the continued strength and energy required to deliver on his national mandate.
Regarding the expectations for the President’s team, he stated, “However, I want to tell his appointees and MPs that if they know they cannot match the speed of the President, they should resign. Any MP or minister, DCE, MCE, CEO, or other appointee who knows [they] cannot match the speed of the president must resign immediately so that we can have people who can match up with his speed so that the country will develop.”
Focus on the Creative Arts Sector
Dr Arhin noted that the rapid development the president envisions requires dedicated subordinates who fully grasp and support that vision.
Turning his attention to his area of expertise—the creative sector—he called for an official probe into the Kwadaso School of Creative Arts.
He questioned why the secondary school remains uncompleted despite various claims made by the previous administration.
Bnoskka maintained that the creative arts sector possesses the potential to create sustainable jobs for Ghana’s unemployed youth and praised the current government’s demonstrated commitment to the industry.
He lauded President Mahama for specifically highlighting the creative sector in his State of the Nation Address, describing it as a “bold step” toward industry transformation.
He described the decision to renovate the Accra International Conference Centre as a laudable move.
He added that the commitment to building a new national theatre is a significant step in the right direction for the arts community.
