A collision at Eduadje on the Cape Coast-Takoradi Highway has resulted in injuries to 11 individuals.
According to the Central Regional Fire Service, the incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. when an Opel Astra (WR 4860-13) travelling from Cape Coast towards Komenda collided head-on with a Nissan minibus (CR 1414-23) heading from Takoradi to Cape Coast.
Ten passengers on board the Nissan minibus, comprising eight males and two females, were rescued by passersby and taken to the Elmina Polyclinic for medical attention.
Fire personnel at the scene worked meticulously to extricate the driver of the Opel Astra, who became trapped following the collision, and he was subsequently transported to the Elmina Polyclinic by the National Ambulance Service.
Rescue teams cleared the road of debris to restore traffic flow and ensure safety at the accident site.
The cause of the accident remains unknown; however, an investigation is underway.
