Ghana condemns drone attacks injuring two citizens in Dubai

Two Ghanaian nationals are recovering in a Dubai hospital after being caught in a drone-related incident near Dubai International Airport on Wednesday morning.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the news in a statement released today, March 11, 2026, stating that the victims’ injuries are not life-threatening.

Ghana’s Ambassador to the UAE, leading a joint delegation from the Abu Dhabi Embassy and the Dubai Consulate, has already visited the victims to coordinate medical care and support.

The Ghanaian government issued a sharp condemnation of the event, describing it as a threat to civilian safety and a danger to global transport hubs.

“The Government of Ghana strongly condemns any act that endangers civilian lives and critical infrastructure,” the ministry stated, adding that they are working closely with authorities in the United Arab Emirates to monitor the situation as it develops.

The Ministry noted that Ghana is currently backing efforts within the United Nations to secure a resolution for the cessation of hostilities, suggesting a broader conflict context behind the drone activity.

Meanwhile, officials have advised Ghanaians living across the Gulf region to stay alert, maintain “heightened vigilance”, and follow all local safety protocols and instructions issued by the embassy.

The Ministry has pledged to provide further updates as more information becomes available from the UAE authorities.
