President John Dramani Mahama has vowed to undertake a comprehensive revamp of the road infrastructure in the Bono Region, assuring residents of significant enhancements prior to the conclusion of his term in office.
He further stated that his objective is to establish Ghana as a leader in road networks within the West African sub-region by the end of his tenure.
President Mahama made these remarks during the launch of his Resetting Ghana Tour in Dormaa Ahenkro on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
“The Bono Region would receive a major facelift on road infrastructure under my tenure, and by the time I leave office, Ghana’s roads would be some of the best in the West African sub-region,” he said.
According to him, his administration will collaborate with Burkina Faso’s president, Ibrahim Traoré, to investigate the destruction of eggs transported from the Dormaa area to Burkina Faso.
On his part, the Omanhene of the Dormaa Traditional Area and President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, appealed to the government to complete the abandoned Agenda 111 hospital project in the Dormaa Central Municipality.
“We know it is not easy; however, we appeal to you to get money to complete the abandoned Agenda 111 project at Amasu and the rest of the country,” he said.
The traditional ruler also called on the government to expand infrastructure at the Dormaa Ahenkro campus of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), citing growing demand for facilities at the institution.
